Fluorite
WE 22-9, 2020
Location:
Rucksack Cleft, Weisseck, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Description:
With an edge length of 5.2 cm, this fluorite is one of the largest crystals we found in 2020. The fluorite is unusually bright for the Rucksack Cleft. The outer 6 mm of the crystal is colorless, followed by a cyan colored zone about 3 mm thick and then a violet center; the innermost part of which fades into a blue hue. The shiny surface of the cube is slightly curved inwards and shows a beautiful, intense square structure.
Size: 6.5 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm
