Pyrite on Matrix

Description:

These three attractive inter-grown pyrite cubes on matrix have a shiny reddish surface texture that can indicate lepidocrocite. The largest crystal measures 3.5 cm. In addition to chlorite, rutile is occasionally crystallized on the matrix.
