Blue Fluorite
WE 17-2, 2017
Location:
Weisseck, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Description:
Three prominent, three-dimensional main crystals sit on a thin quartz slab, accompanied at the lower section by several smaller fluorites. The central main crystal reaches an edge length of up to 5 cm and is partially covered with small, light-colored calcite crystals. The transparency is excellent, and the surfaces display fine etched pits with a delicate, silky luster due to water etching. The specimen is a floater – the reverse side is also covered with calcite crystals.
Size: 11.5 x 9.5 x 6.5 cm
