Fluorite and Calcite
WE 9–9, 2013
Location:
Ice Cleft, Weisseck, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Description:
Large fluorite specimen with semicircular crystal growth in combination with calcite. I found this piece in August 2013 when I first crawled into the large rear cavern of the Ice Cleft. It was lying on the ground in the front area about 17 meters from the entrance. It shows a very intense blue translucent color. The crystal surfaces are slightly curved inwards, high-gloss, and show an intensive square texture. The largest crystal measures 4.5 cm at the edges.
Size: 16 x 10 x 8 cm
