Fluorite
WE 9–34, 2013
Location:
Ice Cleft, Weisseck, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Description:
Another crazy fluorite from the Ice Cleft: Fluorite with a small cube surface with an infinite stepped edge growth where it slants. This results in the shape of an octahedron with a cube surface. The edge growth also shows a skeleton-like reinforced growth with a thin whitish fluorite layer that gives the piece a frosty character. The surfaces are matt and shiny - the transparency is outstanding! This piece was found 9 meters from the entrance, from the ceiling area. This is exactly the area where it briefly looked in 2013 as if the cleft had ended here. Unfortunately there was only this one piece. We 9-33 were also found in this area.
Size: 12.8 x 8.3 x 6.5 cm
