Fluorite
WE 9–33, 2013
Location:
Ice Cleft, Weisseck, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Description:
This blue-green fluorite was found 9 meters from the entrance, from the ceiling area. This is exactly the area where in 2013 it briefly looked as if the cleft had ended here. The fluorite shows a cube surface with an infinite stepped edge growth in the slant. This results in the shape of an octahedron with a cube surface. The surfaces are matt shiny - the transparency is excellent! The light brown sinter strips that have grown give the piece additional attractiveness. Only two other smaller pieces of this type were found. We 9-34 was also found in this area.
Size: 12 x 8.2 x 6.5 cm
