Fluorite
WE 3-7
Location:
Summit Cleft, Weisseck, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Description:
This large fluorite specimen from the third cavern of Summit Cleft shows an excellent luster because the fluorites were originally covered with calcite, thereby protecting the fluorites. The crystal surfaces show an intense square structure and a multi-stepped edge growth. A second generation of small fluorites has sporadically grown on the surfaces of the large fluorite crystals. Individual fluorite cubes are exposed and dominant with a diameter up to 6 cm. Backlit, the piece shows a beautiful blue-green color and also with purple areas.
Size: 24.5 x 18.8 x 10.5 cm
