Quartz and Calcite on Matrix

Description:

Two generations of quartz crystals grown on matrix and calcite with some chlorite. The quartz crystals show razor-sharp edges; the side surfaces show a snowy layer. This layer reaches to the edges of the prisms abruptly ending, as if cut off. The tops are highly lustrous with water-clear transparency. The main crystals measure 3 cm - undamaged.
