Fluorite
WE 2-5, 2003, August
Location:
Summit Cleft, Weisseck, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Description:
This piece was particularly exposed to the effects of water. As a result, the water etching is especially intensive; the fluorite shows deep etching gaps. Due to the intensive etching, the square structure on the surfaces is difficult to recognize. A few white barites have grown into the fluorite and shine through brightly. The largest fluorite crystal measures 7 cm in diameter. A second generation of fluorite has grown in the upper part of the piece. There are also some light purple color areas in this area.
Size: 14 x 12.5 x 5.5 cm
