158 Fluorite

Bergmännisch Glück Mine, Frohnau, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany

This piece is amazing! A perfect specimen of amber-yellow to blue- (and purple-) zoned fluorite crystals up to 2.2 cm! The sharp terminated crystals are showing purple to blue zonings. As seen in the picture, there are some golden chalcopyrite crystals grown on the fluorites, which make this piece even more attractive. And there are intergrown chalcopyrites inside of the fluorites too. The surfaces are highly lustrous and display a fine square texture. The fluorite has a healed crack on the left side. The location “Bergmännisch Glück” is famous for special kinds of fluorites. Really a charming piece!
