Fluorite

WE 3-4

Location:

Summit Cleft, Weisseck, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria

Description:

Fluorite on matrix from the third cavern from the Summit Cleft. The fluorite cubes reach an edge length of up to 2.2 cm. The crystal surface shows a slightly square structure and excellent luster. The fluorites were originally covered with calcite crystals that were removed with acid. Due to the calcite, the fluorites were well protected from the effects of water and therefore have a good shine. The fluorites are in some areas covered with a second generation of fluorites. The piece is partially transparent and shows an intense violet color with backlight, which in some areas changes to a lighter lavender color.

Size: 24.5 x 21 x 10.5 cm
